1. How do I know this process will work for me?

2What is the process, and how long does it take?

The work is done in phases.

The INITIAL EVALUATION (IE) can take anywhere from 30 to 45 days. You must provide the information we request and authorizations to speak with your financial institutions in order for us to figure out options for your personal situation. Once we agree on a plan, we decide who does what and based on the plan we can estimate how long it will take to resolve your issues.

MONTHLY – We work a month at a time on your issues which is also how we bill.

MONITORING – Once a resolution is in place, for example if and when the servicer agrees to a three-month trial loan modification, we monitor the client’s account, for example, from trial modification to permanent modification documents and return to normal servicing. This monitoring process includes regular status updates, review of final resolutions such as permanent modification documents, and oversight, for example, to ensure the servicer is applying for all trial payments correctly.

3. How do you get paid/what will it cost me?

Our standard fee for the IE is $600.00 with a sliding scale available which is dependent on your financial situation. For example, if you are current on your mortgage, the IE fee may be lower.

MONTHLY – The fee is usually the same as the IE fee or may change depending on HSI staff assessment of the amount of work involved in preparing submissions and appeals for a loan modification or for other work and your current financial situation.

MONITORING – The fee is generally 50% of the monthly contract fee.

We provide each client with a separate contract for each phase which they must sign and approve in order to move forward.

HSI accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover as well as checks for payment.
